About Save Baby Baraka: Urgent Heart Surgery Needed
๐ Help Save Baby Baraka's Life โ Urgent Heart Surgery Needed
Today, I visited the humble home of Peter Maina Muriithi and Nancy Wawira Njiru, loving parents from Barigitu village, Gatundu North. Through love and hope, they brought into this world a beautiful baby boy โ Baraka Junior Muriithi, now 1 year and 1 month old. A bright, handsome, and cheerful soul โ truly a blessing to his family.
However, tragedy has struck this young family.
From just a few months after birth, Baby Baraka began to show worrying signs โ failure to gain weight, frequent and severe fevers, and recurring pneumonia. The parents sought help far and wide, taking him to hospitals including Mubau, Igegania, Thika, Gatundu, and Kenyatta National Hospital. They gave everything they had, hoping for healing.
Eventually, a referral to One Heart Medical Center confirmed their worst fears: Baby Baraka has two holes in his heart (AV Canal Defect) โ a critical condition causing his health to deteriorate rapidly. Later, another scan at Kenyatta Hospital on 19th August 2025 revealed a further complication โ two of his veins are abnormally joined, a rare and life-threatening issue that has caused his veins to swell dangerously. Emergency surgery is now urgently needed.
๐งพ Medical Summary:
Diagnosis: Congenital Heart Disease โ AV Canal Defect + Abnormal Pulmonary Vein Connection
Treatment: Emergency Open-Heart Surgery
Recommended Hospital: Referral to a cardiac center in India
Estimated Hospital Stay: At least 15 days
Amount Needed: KES 2,000,000
๐ Why We Need You
Baby Baraka's parents have done everything humanly possible. His father sold all his livestock โ cows and goats โ hoping it would be enough. The family is now emotionally, physically, and financially exhausted. All they want is to see their little blessing โ their Baraka โ live, laugh, and grow healthy.
This is an urgent call to action. Every day that passes puts Baraka at greater risk. The swelling of his veins continues, and without this life-saving surgery, the future is grim.
๐ How You Can Help
We are humbly appealing to all friends, well-wishers, and people of goodwill โ let us stand with Baby Baraka. Whatever little you can give will go a long way in bridging the financial gap and getting him to India in time for surgery.
